We are seeking a Metallurgist/Materials Engineer for our Applied Technology Services Group located in San Ramon, CA.

You will plan and direct laboratory development projects and major/minor failure analysis projects as well as administer outside contract work. You should have 2+ years Metallurgical/Materials engineering experience (this position may be filled with a senior level experienced candidate); in-depth knowledge of metallurgy and strong experience with NDE techniques. Materials you will most likely encounter on the job are: Steels (pipes, valves, vessels), Aluminum (wire, fittings, connectors), Copper (wire, valves), and ceramics (insulators). Strong oral and written communication skills with a customer focus and a can-do attitude are required. BS Engineering degree required in metallurgy, materials, or equivalent areas. Work experience in the gas pipeline or power generation industries a plus.
